Corporate partnerships policy

 

Corporations, Institutions, businesses can have a global influence on children and their communities. Kikwiyakare Global Initiative  engages with corporations and foundations as part of its child centered development work. In doing so, it strives to ensure that its work, integrity, reputation and image are protected and enhanced.

 

Kikwiyakare Global Initiative  does not work in partnership with any corporation whose primary product is the manufacture of armaments, weapons, tobacco or alcohol.

 

Any company with whom Kikwiyakare Global Initiative  intends to enter into a corporate partnership must demonstrate a commitment to corporate social responsibility and have an affinity withKikwiyakare Global Initiative missions and core values.

 

Kikwiyakare Global Initiative  does not accept support from companies whose practices include the following:

  • activities that demonstrate a disregard for human rights and specifically child rights

  • proof of harming children through knowingly and persistently neglecting human rights

  • facing legal action for violation of international humanitarian, environmental or financial standards or codes of conduct (for example Universal Declaration of Human Rights, International LabourOrganisation Conventions, International Organisation for Standardisation )

  • lack of transparency about its activities in sectors/regions where contraventions of international standards frequently occur.
